Hovercraft Flood Rescue

Recent flooding in the America's northeast and news reports of more to come, remind us that mother nature still takes advantage sometimes. When the bridges have all been knocked down by the floods and you need to make a 20-mile round trip to the shop, hospital or to collect loved ones, perhaps its time to invest in a personal hovercraft.

Hovercraft have one major advantage over rescue boats, they have no propeller to snag onto submerged obstacles. Flooded ground in the country has the occasional wire fence to navigate, whereas streets have all manner of submerged obstacles to spoil a prop, e.g. street furniture, parking meters, street signs etc.

Hovercraft can also save lives when it comes to mud rescue, ice rescue or sand rescue, boats don't work too well over solid land and in shallow waters - ice rescue is particularly dangerous for rescue personnel, since hypothermia can affect a victim's / rescuer's mobility after 10 minutes of exposure to extreme cold.

Hov Pod Road Tour - Do you want a Demo in your town?
Hov Pod USA will shortly be driving across the country
conducting demonstrations of the Hov Pod for interested parties from San Francisco to Alabama. We have no planned route at this stage, so we are open to suggestions as to where we should demo our craft!!!

If you would like to demo the Hov Pod, feel you have a location that would be great for a Demo, or just believe we should come to you, then now is your chance to Raise Your hand! Hov Pod Saves Woman

Finally, I'm please to say a good news story - A Hov Pod was used earlier this year to help save the life of a woman caught by tides in New Zealand. Our Australian and New Zealand Customers would most likely have heard the story, but it is always a benefit to know that owners of these wonderful vehicles are willing to step up and offer their use to the benefit of others.

In this particular scenario, the Hov Pod owner was the Auckland International Airport and they graciously assisted local Search and Rescue when the New Zealand Coastguard could not reach her.

Hov Pod USA are offering 3 days FREE training for customers who wish to build their own hovercraft, based upon the Hov Pod SPX LM hull.

The training, which covers operation, routine maintenance and strip down to component level, is suitable for individuals who wish to build their own hovercraft using the Hov Pod SPX LM hull as a base. The full cost of the training will be refunded to all customers who purchase the Hov Pod SPX LM within 6 months from the date of their training course.

The Hov Pod SPX LM comprises of Hov Pod Hull, manufactured from HDPE, in a choice of colours: blue, green, red and yellow.
